HOW DOES THE COMPOST CLUB WORK?

The Compost Club is a great opportunity to help build your community by keeping food waste out of landfills and giving nutrients back to the soil. Composting helps reduce methane emissions, control erosion, build healthy soil, reduce run-off, provide bio-available nutrients to plants, and create life - you can be a part of that! THROW SCRAPS IN BUCKET

You can use your provided compost bucket to hold the veggie scraps, used coffee grounds, and those fuzzy strawberries in the back of your fridge. We recommend keeping your bucket under the sink for easy access and to keep it away from excessive heat. The lid will prevent any pest issues, and a weekly pickup prevents any odors! Here's a list of approved compostables.

PUT BUCKET ON PORCH

Every Friday morning, we will come by to pick up your filled bucket and leave a clean one in its place. Occasionally, we will need to change our pickup day due to holidays/illness/etc and that will be communicated to you as soon as we know so that you can be prepared. Here is our pickup calendar for 2024.

NATURE HANDLES THE REST

All of the compostables collected are added to our compost piles, where worms and other beneficial organisms will break them down and turn them into soil-building plant food! This allows us to grow super nutrient-dense vegetables, fruits, and herbs to share with our community while also building a resilient eco-system. Here is more information on composting.

GUIDELINES AND NOTES

Replacement buckets are $7
Buckets are property of Frozen Peak Foods and must be returned upon ending of Compost Club services
Extra buckets may be available upon request for larger compostable donations
All compostables must be inside bucket at time of collection, without plastic or wrapping
If pickup is missed, please contact Sarah at 806-471-0299 to reschedule pickup or schedule a drop off
Extra compost and plant starts may be available in limited quantities throughout the year, which will be offered to Compost Club members before advertising them to the general public
Any orders for Frozen Peak Foods or Freezy Peezy Foods placed by Compost Club members receive free delivery (at collection time) with coupon code COMPOSTCLUB
