ABOUT FROZEN PEAK
A lot of the heirloom vegetables, herbs, and fruits that we sell are either grown right here in our backyard or are sourced directly from local farms in the Fort Worth, Texas area. Supporting local gardeners and farmers is crucial to building strong communities! We have a passion for growing and sharing real food, which is what kick-started our freeze-drying journey. Our freeze-dried goodies are just the tip of the iceberg, though!
LOCAL COMPOST PICKUP
We grow our produce in an organic and sustainable way, with a major focus on soil health. This means that we use a lot of compost. We currently offer a weekly porch pickup for our "Compost Club" members or spontaneous pickups as long as we have enough notice. If we end up with more compost during a pickup than we need for our backyard garden, we share the extra compost with the local community garden that we support! If you have any compost questions - click here for more info.
HEIRLOOM VEGETABLE/HERB PLANTS
Each season, we start more plants than we need so that we are covered in case of a disaster or late freeze. This means that each season, we inevitably have extra heirloom vegetable and herb plants to share! We offer our bonus plants first to our "Compost Club" members and Frozen Peak subscribers, then post the remaining plants on the applicable shop page (tomato plants will be on the vegetable page, thyme will be on the herbs page). Make sure to sign up for the "Compost Club" or subscribe if you're looking to add some nutritious fun to your garden or landscape!
FREEZE-DRYER TRAY RENTAL
Have a bumper crop of vegetables that you would like to save, but don't have your own freeze-dryer? Planning to take freeze-dried meals on your camping/hiking trip, but want them to be your secret family recipe? Started growing (legal) medicinal herbs during the pandemic, but can't hang them around your house to dry because your cat thinks they're toys? Let us know!
Not everything can be freeze-dried, but we would love to try! Send us a message on the contact page, via email, or call us and let us know what you're craving and we will do our best to figure out how to freeze-dry it for you (or we will let you know why it won't work).

WHO IS BEHIND ALL OF THIS FREEZE-DRIED GOODNESS?
Hey there! We are the Wilkinsons - Mike, Sarah, and our four spectacular children. We have lived in North Richland Hills, Texas for the past 4 years and we absolutely love it here! When we aren't working in the garden or packing freeze-dried treats, Mike works full time as a mechanical engineer while Sarah manages the household and the children's busy schedules.
We got into freeze-drying because we are passionate about sharing real food with our community, especially nutritious food grown in healthy, living soil with sustainable practices. Freeze-drying allows us to share the organic vegetables and herbs that we grow with an insanely long shelf life, while also preserving up to 97% of the nutrients!
